Ammolite gemstones are cabochons that are hand-finished without any use of coatings. Its materialistic use as a part of commercial jewelry dates back to the 1960s. World Jewelry Confederation’s Colored Stones Commission in 1981 recognized it as an organic gemstone. This colorful gemstone is also known by the names Calcenite and commercially as Korite.
